I have to say im disappointed, One of my favorite things about Opeth is their amazing ability to blend death metal with sweet melodic lines and transition so seamlessly and the tempo changes.. Oh the tempo changes! But this album lacks all of that, it sounds like an album u have to be stoned to really appreciate. With that said i absolutely LOVED Damnation , it was so perfect and pure, but Heritage doesn't live up to that. Its not an acoustic album, its so 70's prog metal/stoner metal that i cant picture the guys from Opeth being behind this album. Im hoping when I see them on NOV 1st they stick to shit from Deliverance/Damnation and Blackwater Park more than this and Watershed.

I chuckled here. Opeth is a terrible example of that. A good example would be Therion's Beyond Sanctorum.
