Make sure if you look into them (and haven't before) to listen to the albums chronologically. His folkier stuff would be the first two albums with the second two being more band-oriented but still have elements of folk, just tossed in with blues, pop, etc.

Get "Smoke Ring for my Halo" by "Kurt Vile". It's an awesome album and I'm sure you'd enjoy it.
