I did not know that Boris released a new album, it has now been downloaded and put on my iPod, thank you.

Although I am sure you know of them already the Melvins are similar to Boris and I read somewhere that Boris actually took their name from a Melvins' song, so I'd look into them, particularly this album:

Awesome band, Boris. they just did an EP with lead singer of The Cult, which is good.

You should check out MetalSwim too. It has tracks by them and similar bands

Awesome.

Some other similar bands would be Sun O))) (although I think they suck) and Earth (who I think are pretty good). These are both drone bands, though, so unless you really like that aspect of Boris you might not like them.

Earth is pretty good, they have a rocky drop vibe too mixed in with the drone if I remember correctly.

Earth - [The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull #01] Junkyard Priest <-- may even have like a stonery vibe included in that mix.. ^_^

Sun O))) is alright too droney for me as well.

If for some strange reason you haven't heard Boredoms yet, check them out. Vision Creation Newsun is probably my favourite release of theirs.

Altar, the album that Sun O))) did with Boris is pretty good if you haven't heard it.
