Suburbs of Santa Cruz are probably the worlds hipster capitol. I live in the central valley and we don't really have too many. It's kind of funny, we actually have a lot of people who still dress like it's the 90's. Walking around in sweat pants and shitty band t-shirts, etc etc. But that's probably because my city's youth is high 100% of the time and they don't give a fuck. +Sweatpants are comfy.

well in Cali where the term hipster comes from we use it for generally white middle class kids who attend cochella

that is by far the easiest explanation for them

they pick up on any trends the indies had last month and run with them making those bands rich and famous

they also like to spend 150 dollars on jeans that are made to look like you bought them at a thrift store or 80 dollar sun glasses that look like the 5 dollar ones you get at Venice
