I know. They are more technical than a lot, I suppose. That doesn't make them good. However, I believe a lack of technicality, to an extent, effects quality.
That being said, I still think Parkway Drive blows.

I've been listening to Parkway Drive since their first album in 2003. The main appeal to me is the lyrics, breakdowns, and I've met the entire band. They're a great bunch of guys. I must say they do sound similar in a few songs. They're a great band to refresh on, but I don't listen to them consistently as I used to.
