i know some straightedge people but they are more towards LA. i have a lot of friends living in SB this year and they are the opposite of you Collin, haha. SB is a huge party scene. huge. ravers and drugs and drinking everywhere. the first time i went i went to isla vista and i was literally stumbling into parties on fucking accident and there were people straight up doing lines in the bathroom... like openly. I was like.. please take me home haha. it's dirtyyyy in IV. ucsb is a little nicer tho but still very associated with IV. try not to go to sbcc though
im not straightedge but I don't drink and people hardcore pressured me to drink and do shit every time Ive been to sb... kids are kinda douchey and perverted there
that being said i know there is a little hardcore scene in SB but i know shit about it..
ya IV is like world famous for it's college parties UCSB is in the top 3 party schools every year for the last like 30 years
but if you live outside of IV like I'm going to live in Goleta you don't have to deal with it every day

ya there really isn't and it's kinda sad
new wave edge kids try to use straight edge as some sort of philosophy but it's such a load of complete bullshit
if you want to be edge because you have witnessed or you personally ruined your life on alcohol or w/e then great good for you for improving yourself
but don't project it on the rest of us drugs are not inherently bad
