I guess it is just youtube where you can get people to rage by saying a band is a rip off of another (because deep down they know it is true... or are just stupid)

I don't care either way, I just don't see how they are a rip-off of Queensrÿche, of all bands

the early works of Fates Warning were far superior from both a progressive and heavy metal standpoint... Queensrÿche did have Mindcrime but that wasn't until '88 and by then FW had already released:

The Spectre Within (sexy)
Awaken the Guardian (sexy)
No Exit (not as sexy, but this is where "Silent Cries" was featured)

Have you listened to anything off of Queensrÿche's s/t EP? That is where I'd say the influence comes from. After the EP Queensrÿche went off with a different style that doesn't have anywhere near the amount of similarities with Fates Warning.
