So Death Grips spontaneously released another album for free download on the Internet, which I have a ton of respect for. The album itself didn't jump out at my like Exmilitary and The Money Store did and it seemed pretty subdued, considering who created it. I thought there was some decent variety there, though, so I'll be giving it another listen or two to see whether or not I appreciate it more.

I'll be having a sit down to make it eventually.

Downloaded a good 4-5 albums last night I need to get through.

Let's see, gave these four a listen yesterday:

Peace Sword by The Flaming Lips
Comedown Machine by The Strokes
The Man Who Died in His Boat by Grouper

Those were more or less boring, the best of which being the Lips album and the worst of which probably the Strokes album, which wasn't so much bad as forgettable. Eh, I shouldn't say that, the Grouper album was pretty good, too.

This one, Virgins by Tim Hecker was pretty solid. There were parts I really didn't like, parts that bored me, parts I felt like I didn't understand/couldn't appreciate and some parts came off as beautiful, I'd recommend it but it definitely is mood music, I think.

17 tracks, seems like quite an endeavor, maybe I'll download this if I go hiking Friday or Saturday.

Dunno if it's your thing, but I freaking love Lauren Bousfield (aka Nero's Day at Disneyland)

Somewhat psychedelic garage punk

Gave this one a listen and really enjoyed it, will probably be included in my top ten for the year.

Bump in hopes of finding some more quality, abrasive noise rock, punk, etc. from this year.
