You call Within the Ruins "generic deathcore" which they really aren't, and you post one of the most generic death metal bands out there. But I like Cannibal Corpse, so I don't really care.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USykCZCnC7Alol that's some serious generic deathcore. and cannibal corpse is not generic at all. they created their sound, paul's drumming style. rob's intricate but ever so heavy riff writing. alex's incredible bass composition and speed. and everything about pat o'brien. (lets now forget jack owen... his bluesy jazzy style of playing that comes up frequently in the Wretched Spawn album is amazing). not to forget George, of course. you can't really call a band generic when they were one of the original bands that boosted the scene.
the band you posted sounds like the acacia strain, those breakdowns all sound the same and are all based off of the same musical formula which is very restricting and frankly stupid and easy. breakdowns can be cool but not when the whole song is a breakdown of 3-4 notes with some terrible vocalist screaming who can't recreate it live.
Listen to Sophicide, I posted two links to them before the Corpse link (which you completely ignored, thx).
so you can hear the difference between metal core and death metal. I'm not hating on you or deathcore, for that matter. There's some deathcore I like, but that doesn't mean it isn't completely refurbished from other bands making it part of the generic death metal trend (deathcore).
