I tried Vanguard & Nexus 2. After trying Sylenth1 I haven't used the others at all.

The video might not be that impressive but you can get an idea of the interface here:

There's also some nice soundbanks for it.

Wow, that sounds so much better than Vanguard, looks a lot more in depth too. I like Albino 3 a lot because it just plain sounds weird, and it's easy to get some very psy sounds out of it. I'll definitely have to check out Sylenth1 though.

fyi vsts can be just as powerful as hardware synths, you just have to know your synth well, your daw well, and how to eq/mix well.

Not even broski, a soft synth can NOT emulate a quality analog synth. And when it comes to VA, many VST's just don't have the same tone. It's like with guitars, many many factors contribute to the tone. They each have their own flavor. Most professional electronic musicians use hardware synths, for that reason.

A dark psy track I recently found, the bass on this one is truly slamming. Very chaotic stuff

I do wish dark psy artists would use different types of synth leads though, they all seem to cling to that static electricity effect that Kindzadza seems to have popularized. Infected Mushroom did it first and did it better, imho, and they used it with a lot more taste. If there was more variety to dark psy artists I could see myself really enjoying this genre, but I get bored of it really fast and can only listen to it here and there.
