one of my fav goa songs ever :)

i've been to two goa festivals (got dragged along by friends) in the swiss mountains this summer (summer never ends and SoMuNA), saw vibrasphere, cosmosis, headroom and lots of others. but i definitely have enough goa in me for the next months.. luckily there are alot of rock concerts to go to this autumn.

here's a nice psychedelic tune:

I made this song in about an hour(didn't feel like continuing further, and it's only 1 1/2 minutes long). although back then (about 2 months ago) I didn't even know how to make automation clips and my vsts sucked...

Not bad at all, very Goa feel to it. What VST's were you using? They didn't sound awful or anything. I finally got myself a hardware synth, so I'm moving away from VSTs now myself. Was using Albino 3, Vanguard, Absynth. I may still use Albino 3 for some FX, as I think that's it's strong point by far. VST's just don't do good round bass without compression, and the lead synths always sound thin and cheesy imo. Well, in comparison to hardware.

I agree, I liked the song, it had a nice flow to it. I also agree for the most part on the idea that hardware has a fuller, more multi dimensional kind of feel to it. I also like Vanguard a good bit, been starting to at least, though customizing truly original sound synthesis is kind of tricky on it for me. May I ask where you found Albino 3 and Absynth though? I don't have a lot of reliable sources for VSTs myself and I am in dire need of new ones so anything I can find is a plus.

Anyway, what synth did you end up getting and how are you liking it?

My computer is really getting towards the end of it's life so I have not been pursuing finding new music to download in order to conserve space. As such, I haven't posted much. However, this has pushed me to reinvestigate old tunes that I never fully grasped or didn't see from a certain perspective before. I don't know if this one has been posted yet but I've really been liking it. The whole CD has it's ups and downs but this track really shines. The climax is really dramatic sounding and it just feels so intense haha.

Wow that's awesome that you got to go to some festivals. There's nothing like that around here except for the occasional psy show with a small group of people in a club. I'd love to see Vibrasphere so much, how was it?

Never had the opportunity to use it myself. How's the interface? I find most of the trouble I have with VST's is the interface. Vanguard seems overly simplified, absynth is way too damn complicated. Albino 3 is really nicely set-up though, imo. I also tried using Reaktor 5, but holy god is that thing complicated. I can't even get a single synth to work on that, don't know why. No sound, nothing. Shit is harder than brain surgery.

I tried Vanguard & Nexus 2. After trying Sylenth1 I haven't used the others at all.

The video might not be that impressive but you can get an idea of the interface here:

There's also some nice soundbanks for it.
