It's called a hang-drum :D I googled it, I wanna learn to play it now haha. And yeah he looks seriously ecstatic when the drums come in... I wish I could feel that someday. Hopefully I will, now that I have a job, I'm saving up to buy a really nice synthesizer, I have tons of psychedelic ideas that are begging to come out of me :o

yes rick, make some music to melt my mind <3

so i have come to the conclusion that dubstep is the best psychedelic music.

Awesome! What kind of synth are you looking to pick up? Also, do you have music you make hosted anywhere? I'd love to check it out if so.

There's cool dub, but it's mostly chill music and not so much trippin' music, imho. Psy-Trance/Goa is by far the trippiest and most out there music.

My favorite song off the CV : Trance Side release by Infected Mushroom. Such beautiful synths!

It's still up in the air, there's a lot I'm looking at. I don't have music yet, I'm still learning a lot. I don't want to record anything until I'm sure it will sound unique enough to make an impression on people the first time they hear it, so a lot of the stuff I do right now is just sound manipulating/creating. Trying to find never done before sounds/noises/effects, etc etc. Currently I work with several VSTs, Albino 3 and Vanguard being my main synths, but I also use Catanya Arpeggiator and Absynth 5 synth. I really enjoy the versatility and ease of use that comes with soft synths, but for quality sound and genre-destroying sounds you need to pick up some hardware eventually...So that's what I'm doing now :P

Yeah, hardware also opens up a new world of sound that is significantly less explored than the soft synth universe because of torrents etc. I like Albino and Vanguard a lot myself, as well. I don't know a whole lot about hardware synths but I own a little Micro Korg which is pretty fun, not as powerful as I'd wish but it can make some real fucked up noises. When you decide on what you're getting, I'd love to hear more about it.

Song Pong is also probably my favorite off of CV, that or Yanko Pitch. Song Pong was my absolute favorite IM track for a very long time though, the synths are quite epic.
