Why so much talk of slayer in a hardcore thread? D=

because a lot of hardcore bands have been influenced through thrash metal.

what slayer are you talking about?

you might have a point for something like Dead Skin Mask but then the early Slayer albums aren't exactly thrash either

I don't see Terror putting out anything close to as musically challenging to play as Raining Blood

I, or anyone else for that matter, have never at any point claimed that hardcore takes equal or more talent to play than any genre of metal.

I listen to a lot of metal. Metallica, especially the early stuff, is my favorite band. But I listen to a lot of music simply because I enjoy it, not because it takes talent to play.

Simply listening to hardcore will never give you the full experience of the music. Going to shows and actually participating in them will give you a whole different view on the genre.

I think you should just end now before another one of our threads gets closed.

Alright well with Raining Blood you have a point. I'm just saying a fair amount of Terror and Slayer are similar in complexity.

yes because slayer started out as a very punk influenced band but any of their albums past 85 are much more complex

the point is that thrash metal prides itself on the musicmanship it takes to play and if a band were really influenced by that they wouldn't play the same fucking 4 chords in every song

calling Terror thrash metal is a bit like calling Blink 182 ska

As if they were a new band.

And to answer your question, yes we've heard of Defeater. They're pretty good
