Skrillex is not even compariable to pretty lights imo...... He hardley plays real dubstep, its mostly hard electro........... want to listen to some real dubstep, go for pretty lights, mt eden, opiuo (even though its "glitch hop" lol) but stuff like that....
skrillex is popular now, and dont get me wrong, ive met sonny many times, and hes a really really nice kid, for example. We did a show at the Roseland here in portland, and there were these little kids in the back, and he went out to just talk to them and give a couple autographs, im sure in time, he will lose his piece of humble pie, as do most people who go famous, but for now the kid does it for the music and his fans, so in my book thats honorable! now im not a big fan of his music, he does have a couple tracks i do like, such as make for smile, with you friends, cat rats, slats slats slats, and his more harmonic tunes..... im not a big fan of the WOMP WOMP WOMP style...... its like the Koolaid guy busting in your nice sarine living space and is like OHHH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP WOBBLE WOBBLE WOBBLE! just not my cup of tea! but I will always defend that sonny is a good guy, and to me thats all that really matters!.... Look at deadmau5, ive met that guy too, and hes a complete dick to just about everyone! at least sonny hasnt got to that point yet!

no offense, but judging by what you said you should learn a lot more about dubstep before trying to educate somebody on what "real" dubstep is. those examples were fairly far off.
