and im pretty sure im not the first to say this, but 5fdp is nothing like pantera.

id say their closer to soil... but if you think pantera then clean out your ears and go to metal school.

do your homework and sit in the front of the class... cuz you dont know shit about metal..

If you read post #1 you will see that the two bands are similar in their rise to popularity and their cult following.

Musical prowess and anger are also very similar, band structure and album release delay.

If you mean that they're both tremendously overrated, certainly. I agree.

Sometimes you get what i like to call the "Goodwill Metalheads"

A Goodwill Metal Head: A metal lover who is so poor he cannot afford to buy new music... so he listens to ONLY underground metal bands.. Any band that is "known" is instantly bad, because he cannot afford to buy their new c-d now that it is released to the public and no longer 1$ at their underground garage show. He will even LOVE a band ... untill they get "popular", he will then claim they are bad.

Goodwill Metal Head: "Have u guys listened to this bad amon amoth!?"
Goodwill Metal Head2: "Eew no man, they are fucking sell outs! they sell c-ds for like real $!"

I can download any metal you can think of for free, including all of your Atreyu/Avenged Sevenfold etc. Will I ever plague my precious hard drive with that garbage? Hell no.

I like a lot of popular stuff. Take a look at Emperor. They're vastly popular and will always hold a spot on my top band list. Granted, I won't listen to them too often anymore. I'm also pretty big into Burzum, and they're also rather popular. Same goes for even more mainstream stuff like Iron Maiden and a bit of Judas Priest. Those guys are decent.
