Felt this thread needed a bump.

Since you posted sigur ros, I'll compliment that.

Don't forget to notice you can raise audio on the right corner of the player.

Such a beautiful song, thanks for that.

I hope we will see more of your choice in this thread in the future.

Awesome! Sigur Rós is one of my favorite bands!

I think hammock makes gorgeously sad music:

(I couldn't work the YouTube tag - could someone tell me how to post a vid here - besides just a link?)

Yeah, I'm a sucker for guitar-based ambient accompanied by strings.
I could fill in endless words about my appreciation for this type of music, but words, ironically, are kinda redundant ..

This one is interesteing, i gotta listen some others from Hammock.

I liked more this one.

Absolutely! 'i can almost see you' is one of my favorite tracks by them. 'mono no aware' is from a completely different album called maybe they will sing for us tomorrow, which was a completely different and minimalistic approach to their regular sound, found in all the tracks on raising your voice... trying to stop an echo and kenotic - for example. Their new album is coming out in a few weeks, by the way! I can't wait!

ENJOY!

Here's another recommendation, this time by Jónsi & Alex. Jónsi is the lead singer from Sigur Rós and he and his boyfriend have an art project which WAS called Riceboy Sleeps but is now simply called Jónsi & Alex. The project combines visual art and soothing ambient tunes to accompany them. hammock opened for their art project in the U.S. - by the way. ;)

This track is called 'Indian summer' and features an organic whole of piano gorgeousness and tape loop manipulations. The second half of the track features the theme, but introduced by strings, etc:
