both are good. but for 'being' strat, tolkki sure has put out some lousy stuff since leaving strat. comparing recent stuff of both, i put avalon at mediocre at best. the new strat blows it away. maybe tolkki's good ideas are used up.

Thats why i said the Old Stratovarius in wich he was the main Part and was the best from him.

actually, tbh, i think i do prefer the newer strat. maybe black diamonds / eagleheart era was best, but the really early stuff was much thrashier, like what you posted. almost sounded like early metallica, but with different vocals. dont get me wrong, i like it, certainly better than metallica's recent crap, but it doesnt have as much of that epic power metal feel like the newer and recent strat stuff. its just what i prefer.

actually we call it early power metal / Speed Metal.

Like Early Stratovarius ( Mentioned here ) And Helloween/Blind guardian w/e

Of course it's not the same thing as the new stuff.

All these bands became like stratovarius. Power Metal.
