The images in the vid below are borrowed from Need For Speed: Carbon. The song showcases the style Grime; the U.K.'s answer to Dirty South.
While I've been aware of Grime for some time before NFS: Carbon, I'm
still
on the hunt for more examples of the style. If you've got some to share, post up.
artist: Dynamite MC
song: Bounce

Over a year later, and I'm still looking for more examples of the style.
Here's one for ya, though. Enjoy.
artist: Skepta feat. Trigga Spyda & Flowdan

This weekend, I got turned on to a band by name of Severed Heads. The album I was introduced to was
City Slab Horror
; it has a cool kind of proto-Industrial sound, with lots of tape loops, synth programming, and ambient noise thrown into the mix.
Here's a couple of tracks to give you an idea of their sound, with year of release, to give you an idea of their body of work.
artist: Severed Heads (from '85, from the album
City Slab Horror
)
song: Now, An Explosive New Movie

song: Hot With Fleas (from '87)

Here's some work from other Industrial artists from around the same time, to compare what else was going on in the scene.
artist: Skinny Puppy (from '85)
song: Last Call

artist: KMFDM
song: Sieg Sieg (from '87)

artist: Nitzer Ebb (from '87)
song: Let Your Body Learn

...Man! I don't know how I slept on this track for so long.
In case there's someone that's managed to sleep on this cat longer than me: some jazzy beats by a bloke who goes by Mr. Scruff. It would seem the majority of his work has a more Trip-Hop flavor, though this track sounds more House-y to me.
Give it a listen, and decide for yourself.
artist: Mr. Scruff
song: Get A Move On
