why is this a question? Avenged Sevenfold fucking blow. They are unoriginal, sound pretty much like every metalcore/nu metal band out there in the world right now, have little to no creativity, and are generic/bland. There is nothing special to them and their overall look/style is douche baggery...

and to add to that, Mastodon are amazing. Really fucking amazing band. They are FAR more musically talented in every aspect of the term

Without Mastodon we wouldn't have that. Without A7X we wouldn't have a music video that start with the sound of a vacuum cleaner while simultaneously having guys who have 80s metal makeup with haircuts.

Some Avenged Sevenfold songs are actually borderline acceptable.

But some Mastodan songs are pretty good...
