But that doesn't make todays music better. Don't get me wrong, there are still people making it happen, but the songs that hit the billboard charts today are trash compared to back then.

Agreed to a certain extent, i don't think beatles are much better quality than the music that is hitting the rock charts of today...

Awww cmon, you gotta give them a little more credit than that. I mean, their pop aspect aside, they actually sang their OWN vocals, without the help of auto-tune or studio magic, they actually PLAYED their own instruments, instead of just fronting a band that makes music for them. And on top of all that, they all played several instruments each and utilized them in many songs. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill pop. If they were on the same level as pop rock today, where are the "new beatles"? I don't think anyone's going to remember the jonas brothers in 100 years. There hasn't been a rock band since them to do what they did, and do it well enough to be able to stand outside their shadow. That aside, I don't think they're "over rated", they're just The Beatles. Everyone knows the beatles. Everyone knows Elvis, too. Does that make them over rated, just because more people know of them? Something is only over rated if you yourself hold it to a standard it doesn't achieve, other than that it's just other people blowing shit out of proportion, just like everyone will continue to do. I mean, they are the best selling music artists of all time, but other than that, they aren't " the best " to me in any other category. They made some nice music I enjoy from time to time, if I'm in that kinda mood.

The whole instruments thing.... a lot of amateurs would have no problem creating/playing songs like that. They are so famed now for the sole reason of their huge popularity back in the day. They are just as popular back in the day as lil wayne is now...

Then why didn't more people do it, and why didn't they become famous, and why do I not know of them? Also, Lil Wayne's fame is NOTHING compared to the beatles. Firstly, The Beatles reach a much larger crowd than Lil Wayne. Just about everyone can enjoy the beatles. If you're smarter than a hamster, you're not going to enjoy Lil Wayne. The only people that listen to his music are 16 yr. old white girls, club rats, and retarded wanna-be thugs. You can't even possibly compare their popularity, as if it were anything remotely close to being similar, because it's far from it. You'd be closer in comparing the popularity of Soda to The Beatles than you would be with Lil Wayne. Most people in Europe don't even listen to that retarded monkey crap. Don't get me wrong, eurotrash has its own special brand of dumb music, but it's in the minority. Plenty of people in Europe dig the beatles, you can be sure of that. That whole continent aside, I don't think the rest of the world really gives two shits about lil waynes music either. The entire planet respects The Beatles. Prom dances and trashy night clubs in the U.S. respect lil wayne.

I just don't think if they came out now they would be as popular ya know? I've tried listening to them and giving it a real shot but i just cant seem to get into them, i mean a few songs are enjoyable but needs more driving double bass and less of an optimistic sound. lol

darkgimp what do you concider quality music, that actually had such a impact on the music scene and the way that music is now?
and the rock charts were better then they are now, these days charts are a joke.
music that hits the charts is more or less ment to do so and such in my opinion is sort of a product, while the music made with passion often stays underground(at least doesnt hit the mainstream, exeptions there ofc) because a lot of people just don't understand it or don't even care enough to try looking for something that they actually do like.
