Other people being gay doesn't affect you, it's their lifestyle that they cannot control. It's no different from being a particular race in that sense. How dare you fault someone for something they have no control over, AND doesn't affect you?
For one, it is controllable and fixable.
Second, it does affect me. One thing that has been constant in this country, throughout Slavery and the rest, is a social norm (i.e 'The American Family'), which all these anti-social movements (not just the gay marriage & pride movements) have been destroying. It's not just that all of a sudden any moral respect this country has had has literately disappeared. There are reasons and explanations to the 'changes' society goes through.
While changes are normal, change isn't always good, and it takes work to preserve what you love. Call it homophobia if you may.
