Elysia was never anywhere near punk... in their demos they were like Bring Me The Horizon. Their album "Masochist" is fantastic. I love it. Their most recent album blows.

I'm not sure if they are hardcore, but I thought the hardcore masters of d2jsp could help me out. They're one of my favorite bands though and I think Last.fm labels them as hardcore.
If so, discuss how amazing ETID is.

Just like with any genre, there are hordes of imitators and few innovators, or people who have something to communicate in general.
If you want the best of hardcore, listen to Discharge and Amebix.
