explain to me this turntable.fm ... idk if i have enough time to be on that and searching for tunes like i do elsewhere , but then again it may be a good tool for me to use to find tunes

Usually it's people who have access to either the artists themselves or private trackers. So each week people are rinsing everything from the new Mensah on Deep Medi to old Ramadanman or Shackleton. I stick to this room: http://turntable.fm/future_garage_2step_uk_dubstep_grime

I know last week I got my hands on a WEB Mp3 of Lorca's Moments which was awesome. I know a couple newer artists are on there sharing their tracks. Obviously it's not for everyone, but I find UK music requires patience to enjoy and sure not every tune is golden, but for me it's worth it when someone drops a new song that I've missed, something unreleased, or an old favorite I had forgotten about. I also got invited to a private tracker through there by chatting up a few of the other djs.

there's no live mixing...there's no live anything. you could literally set up a playlist, get in a dj slot, then go to work.

it's immensely boring if you are familiar with the tunes in the scene. if you're new to ukg/future garage then it probably has a lot of benefits.

i did run into a funny moment the other day when i popped in for a sec...one of the guys was bitching at another for playing brostep, then LITERALLY the next track he plays is 16bit (the original chainsaw don )...so i stated that i was confused by the situation and that i didn't care for brostep. a bunch of bros proceed to get offended because I had an opinion that was not their own.

i gave turntable.fm multiple tries...but, ultimately, not my thing. why listen to stuff that is not your taste when you can just browse for yourself

as far as getting dubs, facebook and AIM have always been the best means to get music from the big name guys. ive gotten dubs from the biggest names in the scene thru AIM

on that note...here's music http://soundcloud.com/byrslf%5Fdivision/artek-grief-bomb-remix

Hate to break it to you MinzMLF. But just because you can procure some obscure soundcloud song with 500 hits does not make it good. Alas, Facebook is a great way to get tunes from artists. However private trackers are by far the best source for new music online.
If you ever actually stepped into the room that I posted, you would never find a single "brostep" song being played. DnB? Sure. Techno? Sure. House? Sure. Dubstep? Most of the time.

I'd also like to point out that nobody can truly be "familiar with the tunes in the scene" since after all, most of what people are playing is between a day and 2 months old.
It's fine is turntable isn't your taste, but I get the sense you only listen to soundcloud artists with no awareness of what labels are producing these days. Therefore I can only hope that other users in this thread ignore your opinion on it.

i can discuss, at length, my knowledge of the prominent (and underground) viynl/web record labels in bass music. you can look through this thread and find a number of things, i'm sure, to back that up. so your statement has no merit. soundcloud has A LOT more than just nobodies producing shitty music. that's where you find forthcomings, dj mixes, promos, all kinds of things. as far as acquiring released music (outside of buying it), ive always used fkysls and rarely have a problem finding what i was looking for.

i referenced a specific incident in which there was brostep being played in that room. i had seen the same person on my last few visits, so i can only assume he's a regular

by all means, i encourage people to try it out if that's what they may be interested in...once again, im just giving my opinion about something on it, no need to start making assumptions about me.

ill give you a recap of some of the tunes i recall hearing

neighborhood zed bias -2 times
artful dodger re-rewind
jacques greene - another girl
joy o - sicko cell
lorca - moments
lol boys - moments in heartbreak
a couple of MRK123 tunes
a 16Bit brostep track

...outside of the mrk123 and a select few other things, a lot of these tunes ive rinsed out in excess . I'm sure there's exceptions, of course. but the majority of the songs i heard were not new to me (including your lorca track which has been on vinyl for some time). im not trying to sound like whatever, im just stating that if you keep up with the music, turntable.fm does possess near the selection or variation of music that soundcloud does. every major label and artist in bass music has a soundcloud and keeps up with it.

btw ive never heard anyone ever EVER suggest that someone who uses soundcloud regularly would be disadvantaged when it comes to knowing about label releases

edit: listen, im not trying to be an asshole...this is how i feel about turntable.fm. i may have not spent nearly the amount of time in that room that you have, but from what i have experienced, i have no desire to. and again, i think if you are new to bass music, this would be an excellent source of information and i strongly encourage those of you who havent heard a lot of this great music to check it out. i'm not trying to be rude of offensive, im simply stating that there are better places to access newer tunes and releases from the artists you likely have already played over and over again and even ones you may not have heard about.

I'm not suggesting it's a disadvantage to use SoundCloud. I use it myself. I'm just saying you are bashing turntable.fm pretty hard considering it seems as though you've spent maybe 10 min on it and using your worst examples to describe it. I keep up with the music as in I often have access to unreleased tracks and brand new releases through db9.

Just for the record, the Lorca tune I posted came out a week and a half ago. I'd consider that relatively new.
