It sucks that your bosses never have any damn free time to look at new talent though, me and my buddy have been quite upset with them lately. Especially since AJ completely shrugged me off at excision.
I understand he was probably busy but from what i saw all he was doing was dancing in a corner all night and it kinda pissed me off. Lol. Just my opinion of your bosses, I don't like to be disrespected. And AJ specifically has done it to me several times.

Sounds like Aj, and there too busy booking talent from accross the states and around the world, sorry to say, but everyone is a dj in portland, and by everyone putting out a bunch of crap, makes the real talent get overlooked..... it happens... but if you got some demos via soundcloud, ill be more than happy to listen to. And youll never get there attention at a show, they are much too busy! hope you understand. but that dont stop them from bringing the best to Portland! its not up to them to discover talent thats already here, if your talented.... Really talented, then you can make it on your own...

Yeah but same thing is going on with the other production companies around here. GBE, DPO, DBP, GSE. If they aren't known, they don't have a chance of getting spin time.
Why? I've seen my buddy chern0byl take an entire crowd from renegade during renegades set. Yet he still gets 4 am slots. or nothing at all. I don't even care if i make it big, I beatbox really well. but i still want another couple years of practice in.
And yeah EVERYONE wants to be a dj, that's why you make them send you mixtapes of what they've done. Like VIA soundcloud. AJ and Paul don't need to be the only ones booking they have the money to hire help. Are you telling me that just because everyone wants to be a dj, that absolutely all new talent has pretty much close to a 0 chance of getting out there unless they are just spectacular? not even all big dj's are spectacular. All I'm saying is there's just something off with the production companies around here.

And i understand that none of the other companies are your business but that can give you guys a chance to do something no other company is doing. Checking into all the new talent, No you don't have to hire everyone that's why they get someone like you to check out there mixes and decide of they deserve so air time. I have a few friends who can spin like fuckings bosses but will never get any spin time because of how bad the scene is in the oregon/washington area. All they want is the local talent that's already made a slight name of themselves, Token, renegade, ekim and a few others, spin at EVERYYYY SHOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. it gets old.

First of all Token sucks and he beats his woman (true story)! I dont know why that guy gets so much spin time, Mike (aka ekim) is the fucking man when it comes to dubstep! And renigade only plays whats popular at the time. GBE is a great output for new local talent, and james is a easy guy to talk to, (when hes not chasing tail) DPO (drugsPayOff) is alright during the summer, DBE is dead, Voxx only seems to support there own, Pulsar (new kids) would be great people to talk to about getting spin time for your friends, for they are starting to shine a little. but clear out, the ones who do get there time, Ekim, wayway, justin jeffers, renigade, vise... ect ect, put there time in, they have been doing it for years and im sure when they started they got about the same attention as you and your friends... Its a hard buisness to get into, Like I can spin too, but I dont, and I dont even try to get time, because I know the others put there time in. but just tellin you redcube is not where you start, its when you start to get big they pay attention. And pretty much noone exept the headliners get paid for what they do, they just get a little spin and face time.


ps ive seen chernobyl and yeah hes pretty good... but its a hard buisness and you really gotta scratch and claw your way up! Why doesnt he get in with the dpo boys, hes from salem too right?

Cause DPO fails tbh lol, I think you should know that as well.
He's spinning for gse right now, I was just making a point to who spins at your guys shows. I'm just tired of seeing you guys get the same openers for every show.
And honestly I want to see paul (sidestep) Get big, he's a savage, i just noticed he likes to only remix peoples songs that hes brought I'd like to see him do more with what he can do
And i didn't know that about token. lol. And renegade, he just fails at spinning a variety of music. You should play what you want to play. Not what's big at the time, and that's what's the problem with a lot of portland dj's to be honest..
