I've kinda grown out of metal. It's a whole lot of the same, after a while. Finding new bands wasn't exciting as it used to be, because metal is compressed into this tiny little box of possibilities. It's just not a very expansive group of genres, once you get down to it. That said, I still enjoy listening to it from time to time, but mostly Prog, Folk, Black. I enjoy BM that isn't all "Raw raw blasphemous shit satan satan ahhhh anti jesus shit on the virgin marys vagina", that gets really tiring. Anti-religious/spiritual music is just as bad as any fundamental christian country music. Lyrical themes in metal are more stagnant than an unflushed port-o-potty at the fair. Death Metal is even worse. They hardly ever discuss aspects of death, or anything philosophical or interesting. It's all just " GRRR I DIG UP CORPSES AND FUCK EM IN DA BUTTTTTT THEN I RIP THEIR ENTRAILS OUT AND USE THEM AS A HAMMOCK TO SWING IN THE MOONLIGHT IN THE GRAVEYARD!!! " I'll listen to Metal again when it comes out of it's little hidey-hole of "Tr00 kvlt" bullshit and begins experimenting with new sounds and ideas.
Rap and Hip-Hop is too culture based for me to enjoy. I don't want to hear about other peoples problems, how hard their life was growing up in the hood, how many people they've killed, or how much they enjoy various concoctions of purple drank. I realize there is Rap/Hip-Hop out there with interesting lyrical themes, I just don't enjoy the beats enough and get bored listening to somebody talk about stuff that isn't really that profound.
get wastelands from hacksaw to the throat and choke on your words.
also gotta say that LOTS of niggers are niggering in this nigger. we need the people back that used to prevent this...
