It's a song about the earth. What else is there to say?

I'm liking the progressive stuff a lot sicklad!  Very nice chill tunes.  I really like more experimental psytrance, it can get a little rigid without some boundaries broken (hard to say that ALL psy doesn't break boundaries though).

I've been on this Tool kick lately for some reason.  They're not the most psychedelic sounding, though they definitely operate on a similar basis of repeating patterns with time and tempo changes, sort of like fractal music.  The stuff Maynard is talking about is awesome though, pretty trippy and beautiful lyrics.  Thought this tune would be appropriate.

Part 2 in next post. ;)

Argh I LOVE tool.
It's not Maynard speaking in this song, it's the comedian Bill hicks (if that's the part you were talking about), and then Maynard sings the rest ofc.
If you like them, listen to A Perfect Circle and Puscifer.
APC is an old band Maynard used to sing in, and Puscifer is Maynards solo project, both really amazing though.

I've always wanted to get good at FL and then sample some Tool basslines in there and do stuff with it.
Reflection and Ticks and Leeches would be best for it I think.

Oh yeah, I'm a huge Bill Hicks fan, I just meant what Maynard is saying has such relevance and significance unlike many lyrics I have seen before. He's a very articulate lyricist. I haven't heard A Perfect Circle or Puscifer yet but I will definitely check them out as well. In FL 8, it may be in earlier versions but I can't remember, they have a nice little space above the playlist where you can drag and pull samples around in waveform format. It's pretty handy, I don't know if it can stretch tempo like Live does but you can at least match the BPM. It sounds like a fun musical endeavor, it'd be cool to give a go.

Entheogenic was great :o Gonna have to get that off blogs sometime soon.

I know everyone's seen this guy all over the interwebs, but I figured he deserved honorable mention in the psychedelic thread.

I heard some APC and Puscifer. They're both quite good, I still especially love Tool though. :D Something about the synergy between all of them made Tool a very powerful creative force, even beyond their music.

This Ronald Jenkees guy, I've never heard him before but he's fucking great! It's awesome to watch him jam to the music on keyboard like that. Makes me want to take piano lessons again. Very talented guy, also seems pretty wacky, in a good way, of course. :)

I like the CD cover of Destroy All Monsters a lot. It's interesting music, reminds me of classic rock, punk and psychedelic all rolled into one. Good stuff.
