I'm liking the progressive stuff a lot sicklad! Very nice chill tunes. I really like more experimental psytrance, it can get a little rigid without some boundaries broken (hard to say that ALL psy doesn't break boundaries though).

I've been on this Tool kick lately for some reason. They're not the most psychedelic sounding, though they definitely operate on a similar basis of repeating patterns with time and tempo changes, sort of like fractal music. The stuff Maynard is talking about is awesome though, pretty trippy and beautiful lyrics. Thought this tune would be appropriate.

Part 2 in next post. ;)

Definitely. I got into Tool a while back, there's definitely something odd about their music, not sure if Psychadelic is the right word, but you know what I mean :P I like how they employ a lot of droning noises in with the rhythem, makes for very interesting sounds indeed. The bass leads are amazing.

Since I got into Psytrance though, I've been drawn a lot more to the energy and fast-paced tracks than the smoother, more airy and relaxing tracks. I enjoy those too, but they're usually not my preferance. I have to be in the right mood to enjoy it. All good stuff though

Yeah there's definitely something hard to define about Tool's music. I listen to them in phases very rarely, once every few years but they get more intense each time. I listened to them on mushrooms in pure darkness once and it was so intense that I was balling my eyes out for no reason, I guess it's a kind of energy releasing thing that happens when a trip gets super intense. I had to turn the music off after one song but it was a very awesome experience.

I am drawn more to the atmospheric sounds in psy music lately but I go through phases depending on my mood. They all compliment one another, there is a kind of harmony among them. It's always great to have a nice chillout track after a long night of dancing and it's always great to hear intense high tempo tracks while peaking on nearly anything, including life. ;) I listened to a few of those Electric Universe tracks so far, I really liked The Prayer and Gajinrocker was a fun ride. I'm about to bring some Entheogenic around, can't believe I haven't posted them yet. Kind of a hybrid goa/psytrance/chillout sound they have going.
