I've been gone for a while now, glad to be back and see the thread at the top of the first page!

Not that active on the site these days but I would join that..! :)
But aren't the so called guild topics/chats very limited? To like 50 posts or what ever.
Thanks for the support TidsL! However, I think given that we're a pretty small community here and this thread is still active, maybe holding off on the guild is a good idea for now unless there is strong interest from a few individuals. After giving it some time to sit, I think the interest is still kind of low overall. It might be an idea past it's time anyway. We had talked about it years ago now (crazy!) and it was just something I remembered one day and thought I'd bring back up. Not sure how relevant JSP guilds are these days, but the offer stands if some people do have strong interest. So don't be afraid to say something if you'd want to start another community hub. For now, this thread seems to be doing the job. Cheers!

happy you like it too my brotha
tears of joy of course,
it's considered trip-hop as the main genre, but Flume has subtle psychedelic undertones, and of course it is Electronica, and it is also classified as Experimental, aka why it has a very unique feel to it, and seems difficult to pin-point genretically.
Yeah definitely has some trip-hop influence. I guess that name fits, but it almost seems like another sub-genre of trip-hop or something. Anyway, labels aren't really important but I was curious if there was a way to describe that style of music more accurately, because as I said, Flying Lotus also has that kind of vibe in my mind and I never know how to find similar music, haha.

This is really nice! I still don't know a lot about this particular style of glitchy psy music, but I am liking more and more of it that I hear. It reminds me of Tipper. One thing I noticed about the dance floor is that it seems more laid back than something like a trance dance floor, but not in a way that anybody is enjoying it less. It seems like it's more of a cerebral experience, which I think is a pretty interesting and cool statement about the evolution of music and the effect of technology on it. Synthesizers have so much potential to be taken to so many different places, and it's exciting to watch where synth-based music is being taken.

Yeah, I would. I also really like Trifonic – Ninth Wave. Don't know much of their(?) music but I heard that one on Spotify and it's beautiful.
