but they ARE bad ass
they both can put on a very good live show that if thats the sound you enjoy.
skrillex is talented , i personally dont enjoy his sound but i will say he is very talented. to many people are getting the wrong idea of dubstep from him is how i feel, kids think skrillex as dubstep and hear like early horsepower or loefah etc and dont think thats dubstep. granted genres do evolve like excision / rottun / chronos etc etc pushing the tearout face-meltin sound and that is no doubt dubstep but skrillex rides a thin line. tunnidge and cyrus both said in a Q&A chatroom last week they consider him pop / electro music not dubstep, and if anybody has a say on that topic it would be some of the early innovators that pushed the original dubstep sound like tunnidge and cyrus ..they support him though and said for how big and famous he is hes extremely nice and humble guy.
bassnectar is really talented as well, but read his interviews he will never say any of the music he produces one genre. and his live sets DEFF arent only dubstep if anything like a 3rd dubstep maybe less, he crosses over non stop. i seen bassnectar 3 times this year (accually i saw bassnectar, datsik, excsion yesterday lol , coulda saw skrillex but i passed on that). before dubstep got big in US like pre 2007 he was deff more on a glitch hop sound
nobody likes to be a genre nazi really but there is a thin line that can be drawn. no one should act like their a knowledgeable "dub head" and call ppl posers then be like oh yea my fav ppl are skrillex datsik bassnectar n excision, cause they are the biggest people in the "dubstep" scene in america so idk i think you should have more to offer than what everybody has already heard. shit i still have A LOT of dubstep to discover lol i wouldnt even consider myself very knowledgeable
nah mean ?
