This is coming from a 21 year old's perspective.

I'm going to list a few hardcore bands that everyone should listen too, they have sub elements of punk, melodic, and metal.

Before I list anything, please note that music today has taken elements from so many types of sounds it's hard to categorize bands into a specific genre due to personal opinion.

Integrity - Classic Hardcore
Poison the Well - Early Melodic/Hardcore they have changed their sound many times.
Hatebreed - Respected Hardcore

The Ghost Inside - Melodic Hardcore
Deez Nuts - Punk Hardcore (I refuse to acknowledge "rapcore")
For The Fallen Dreams - Melodic Hardcore
Stick to Your Guns - Melodic Hardcore (More traditional sounding)
American Me - Hardcore/Metal

and before hardcore fans come try to smash be, I prefer Youth Crew interests over Hardline, if you don't know what that is - you need to look it up, that's hardcore history.

Now when thinking hardcore and metal you can't forget Deathcore.

Deathcore and Grindcore must be acknowledged as well, they took more abrasive sounds of the era to create a great feel and familiar sound to many people.

Despised Icon - The most respected Deathcore band

whitechapel - Epic Deathcore band
Job for a Cowboy - Deathcore
Emmure - Early albums were great
The Acacia Strain - Heavy Deathcore
HEAVEN SHALL BURN - German Heavy Metal/Deathcore (Great band)
Carnifex - Well known Deathcore band
Winds of Plague - Another respected Deathcore band
All Shall Perish - Well known Deathcore
Suffocation - Some say Death Metal, but they are epic.
Whisteria Cottage - RIP Deathcore band
Underneath the Gun - Deathcore/Deathmetal - Vocals are sick

I could go on and on in deathcore, but the scene doesn't stop there...

Lets not forget Post-hardcore & Metalcore. The bands are growing more than any other sound out there.

Saosin - Legend Post-hardcore
Underoath - Legend Post-hardcore
Alexisonfire - Legendary Post-hardcore
Taking Back Sunday - OLD TBS, "A Decade Under the Influence" Go listen to that song.

August Burns Red - Metalcore
Parkway Drive - Metalcore
A Day to Remember - Metalcore/pop
Sleeping With Sirens - Post-hardcore
Woe, Is Me - Post-hardcore
Pierce the Veil - Post-hardcore, Vic and his brother are icons to the scene.
Oceana - Post-hardcore
Vanna - Metal/Post-hardcore
Dance Gavin Dance Psychedelic Funk/Post-hardcore (This band is just fucking amazing, Jonny Craig in the early days was before his time)
Emarosa - Old Emarosa was well known, they still are going :)
Confide - Post-hardcore, had an amazing drummer/Clean Vocalist and unclean vocalist.
Dream on Dreamer - Post-hardcore
Of Machines - Epic Post-hardcore

Next new respectable sub genre that's been out there but really hasn't established a firm name for itself?

Trancecore aka "Synth Bands"

Enter Shikari - Probably will be known as mainstream Synth/Trancecore band.

Abandon All Ships - You know these guys
Attack Attack! - Yep
House vs Hurricane - You gotta listen to these guys if you like Post-hardcore, they have amazing songs.
Born Of Osiris - Metal/Synth
Crossfaith - Synth/Metal
Silent Descent - Check them
A Death Among Heroes - Check them

Many more than what I just listed.

and lastly, we have emo sub genre, which I'll only name a few here that deserve to be listed.

Hawthorne Heights - Chris :(
Escape the Fate - Craig
Falling in Reverse - Ronnie
Blessthefall - Craig
Alesana - If you don't like this band, gtfo out of all Punk, Post-hardcore, emo scenes.
Madina Lake - I seen them live once, and they rocked out. Amazing guys.

This is just a slight review of the most popular scene bands, my personal unique band list I keep secret because I can't reveal amazing underground music for all you hipsters to make non-cool for me haha :)

I also listen to:

Techno - Trance, Dance&Club, Electronica, Tektonik and Hardstyle
Rock - Alternative and Indie.
Acoustic - Soooo many acoustics
90's
80's
70's
60's

I really hate getting into Metallica heads, or Iron Maiden fans because this music is soo old to me.

I've heard it from my older brothers, dad and sooooo many "behind" fans.

I mean if you listen to Metallica today, you either love them or you don't listen to music like me nearly all day lol.

I didn't live back then, so I'm going to experience my era of music and live it before it dies or embrace the beginning of music history.

Punks dead, but it sprouted a new root :)

I would quote you, but this page would be way too long. I'm not sure what the point of your post was so I'm just gonna say alrighty then. Prepare to be flamed by Monster666 for your post of opinion, though.

If you're into youth crew bands check this list from a fest that's coming up near me.

you're catching on

and here let me remove all the faggot stuff and really shitty bands for you

I will also edit because idk where you got "melodic" from but you really need to look more into metal before you call any of this shit melodic

The Ghost Inside - Melodic Hardcore - not at all very simplistic anyone who has played guitar for a week could cover one of their tracks with ease

and before hardcore fans come try to smash be, I prefer Youth Crew interests over Hardline, if you don't know what that is - you need to look it up, that's hardcore history.

both are gay and founded on some extremely stupid ideologies but moving on

Now when thinking hardcore and metal you can't forget Deathcore.  yes you can if you aren't a little scene bitch with no taste in music

Grindcore must be acknowledged   grindcore was established out of a completely different movement and it wasn't until the late 80s and early 90s that hardcore bands started to rip them off

Trancecore aka "Synth Bands"

all these are also removed due to being extremely shitty and unoriginal

and lastly, we have emo sub genre, which I'll only name a few here that deserve to be listed.

wrong again none of that trash deserves to be listed in anything other than a list of bands to avoid at all costs

This is just a slight review of the most popular scene bands, my personal unique band list I keep secret because I can't reveal amazing underground music for all you hipsters to make non-cool for me haha :)

60's

I really hate getting into Metallica heads, or Iron Maiden fans because this music is soo old to me.

agreed but both still had ground breaking work that influence every aspect of metal today

Punks dead, but it sprouted a new root :)

and lastly let me just say this, real punk is pretty much dead and buried to call any hardcore punk at this point is a stretch at best and blasphemy at worse

the punk scene is so minute that it's turned into more of a joke than anything

edits in there for ya enjoy

Hit me up with just one playlist that you have, I'm curious.

I bet you don't even go to shows, listen honestly this all may be a waste of time.

I'm sick of people telling me my bands are shitty because they aren't and they are the fucking scene so get OVER IT.

Please list 5 bands, at the minimum so I can tell you where they got their influences from.

You either looks like a Cliche Deathmetal guy or a vintage hispter.
