If you're not being sarcastic, you should definitely think twice before posting in a hardcore thread and claiming you actually know something about the genre

I should have also mentioned that they're 2 completely different genres, what I meant was is that they sort of go hand in hand. people who normally listen to various types of hardcore sometimes also listen to pop-punk, in fact it's common. there's no debating that, that is a fact.

Check out Such Gold, it's actually good pop-punk, and you'll see why hardcore listeners also enjoy this genre, even the "true original" hardcore listeners.

is it so bad to like more than one genre of music, even if you disagree with the genre's overall sound?

I barely listen to any pop punk. Most of it does nothing for me. I am more of the metal head. Power metal, heavy metal, thrash, speed, death etc... All that plus hardcore is 80% of the music i listen to. The other 19% is classic rock, and the other 1% are odd bands/rap.

the only 4 people who don't laugh at you on this entire website are the people who regularly in this thread don't try to play the internet popularity game with me faggot

knew there was a reason lsd liked you

You don't know who Madball is, so I don't think you have place anymore here to talk about hardcore. Madball is pretty much one of the bands that started hardcore.

I'd rather say they have been one of the most influental bands, not one of the bands that started the whole thing

100% wrong the original hardcore was created as a backlash against pop punk

and also the founders of hardcore would fucking cringe at the horrendous bullshit that passes as "hardcore" these days

They've been around since the dawn of hardcore. They pretty much started out as punk just like Agnostic Front and were both essentially one of the foundations to the nyhc movment. But yeah, also very influential.

Just seeing them alone would be worth it. The rest is like a treat.
