If you are interested in old blues, like the inventors of blues (including but not limited to delta blues); Check out Tommy McClennan, Skip James, and Robert Johnson. They are the biggest names in 1930-1940s era blues. Many of their songs have been covered many times by more modern blues artists (examples: BB King, John Lee Hooker, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Muddy Waters, etc.)
Tommy and Skip are the true original blues. Here is a famous Skip James tune:
