i dont know if you missed the last year or so but trap has taken on a larger meaning than previously and now instrumentals are labeled as trap. so thats certainly, trap. maybe not by definition a year ago, but in 2012, thats music is considered trap by a majority.

Definitely a culture clash between the vintage "cookin' bricks slangin' dope rims rims rims bitches bricks bricks bricks" and the more modern electronic approach; doubt anyone will ever be 100% satisfied anymore.

What the hell are you talking about? So is watch the throne dubstep because it has a dunstep instrumental on a few tracks? No its rap. Once again its not a trap thread just because it has trap instrumentals. That thread is just INSTRUMENTALS.

The Houston/Texas thread is epic. I created a Mississippi Rap thread a bit ago as well. It's somewhere.

actually, the song that has a dubstep instrumental, im assuming you're talking about "I cant stop", on watch the throne was out as a DUBSTEP track PRIOR to the release of watch the throne. i would consider that song a dubstep song even with the lyrics over them, yes. that song was released by flux pavillion prior to it being on watch the thrown.

its not that hard of a concept. whether or not they have lyrics, they are recognized and considered by the MAJORITY OF PEOPLE to be called trap music. to you it may not be considered trap because there's no lyrics, but to everybody else who keeps up with music in the world- it is.

if you go see a "trap dj" tomorrow, hes going to play probably more than 50% instrumentals. i think its kinda stupid too, considering trap originally got labeled because of CONTENT, and instrumentals obviously lack content. but its that general formula that followed the original trap instrumentals to why instrumentals are now being labeled as trap. you dont have to accept it, im not saying it's right or wrong, but thats how it is.
