To get anyone to respect your musical taste, you must first learn to respect theirs. I guess that can go for most opinions.

in regards to OP and this thread. whatever, this is probably the millionth thread like this ..but why the fuck would 17 songs mashed up together sound good ? especially arguably bad songs to begin with? all i can do is leave something like this and let the sounds speak http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpzzGXBW4GA

actually i find it extremely ironic OP likes quasimodo so much ... madlib uses samples out the wazoo to make so many of his productions, and ive heard people make claims "music made out of samples isnt music its not original" .. sounds kinda like what OP is saying in a way

that's how i feel about people who are still listening to dubstep. nothing special has come out of the genre in years. music moves fast here on the internet. 1 internet year = 5 IRL years

move on. dmz is boring, kode9 doesn't play or make dubstep anymore, and skream plays brostep. o and skrillex didn't kill it, it was dead before he jumped on it.  OP is stupid, but dubstep is dead. moving  onto new sounds and new tempos now, guys. try and keep up.

after seeing vivek and pinch's set this weekend , i dont think 140 is going anywhere for awhile.. they said a lot of things about keeping the sound alive. not to mention very nice sets from author, jack sparrow, ruckspin, and joe nice were also great , but pinch and vivek were getting vocal .. and its not like the sets were 90% tunes from 04-08 , they were majorly fresh dubs . ofc joe had tons of dubs. vivek and pinch were loaded, pinch made a point to say he had a whole bunch cut for the night

Maybe you should try expanding your music tastes, it never hurts.

I'm not personally a huge fan of dubstep, but I'm also not a fan of threads like these.
In fact threads like these, and people like you, are a lot gayer than dubstep.

Why your knowledge blows.

har·mo·ny   [hahr-muh-nee]
noun, plural har·mo·nies.

3.  Music .
  a. any simultaneous combination of tones.
  b. the simultaneous combination of tones, especially when blended into chords pleasing to the ear; chordal structure, as distinguished from melody and rhythm.
  c. the science of the structure, relations, and practical combination of chords.

si·mul·ta·ne·ous   [sahy-muhl-tey-nee-uhs, sim-uhl-]

existing, occurring, or operating at the same time; concurrent: simultaneous movements; simultaneous translation.

tones
Origin
tone   [tohn]
noun, verb, toned, ton·ing.

  1. any sound considered with reference to its quality, pitch, strength, source, etc.: shrill tones.
  2. quality or character of sound.

Honestly, I'm not too fond of most dubstep.  But at least come prepared if you're going to say such a bold statement.

The foundation of this post just irks me. I'm not disagreeing, just here to point out that the OP is refuting dubstep as music, because it does not include actual instruments producing harmonious sounds. You then posted the music sub-definition of harmony to show that he was wrong. Harmony is a part of music, but just because something is harmonious, doesn't mean it is music. Your reasoning is circular.

Follow the bandwagon and hate on the dubstep, then make a thread saying dubstep is bad while posting one of the few artist of dubstep that the real guys do not appreciate.

Yes Dubstep is terrible in my personal opinion, some like it and I tend to find I do not affiliate with these people. I have never once heard someone (other than on a forum) say they like dubstep.
