Simon has been called a "futurist" and for whatever that means to you, I think this music was pulled from beyond space and time from somewhere sacred and illuminating.

Call me crazy.

futurist means someone who is educated in and writes about the possible future courses of humanity and technology

The term "futurist" was used in an atypical fashion regarding Simon's work. More to say that he has his finger on the pulse of space and time. And yes, I know it's not the conventional use of the term which is why I put it in quotes. If you're curious, it was spoken to a fan of Simon's work by some spacial entity encountered in the depths of a DMT trip and I rather liked the connotation. That's probably why it's not "properly" used, but in a way it still references the definition you explained.

This is the only track that are capable of invoking the exact same feelings inside me, every time I give it a listen.

To me, it always raises the question of whether I have chosen the "real" path in my life. I always feel as if I am taking a footstep aside what I really want.

It also makes me look back upon my past... My past is so clouded, because of medication, that I have to think very deeply to remember anything from before I turned 16 (only a year ago).

This song is a real help. There is no answer popping up inside of my mind...

"Following trails of confusion
Pacing in the footsteps of pestilence
A beacon... into nothingness"

i have close to 2500 songs that are favorites. basically impossible to narrow it down to just one. theres favorites per genre, favorites per mood, favorite musically, most intricate musically, favorite vocally, etc.

Fear Factory - Resurrection is definitely a good contender for all-around most favorite song, though. epic, relatively intricate music, great vocals and a great video with a cool meaning, too. plus its got chainmaille in it. doesnt get much better than this.

btw, if you like this, check out sybreed if youve never heard of them. greatly influenced by fear factory, and they do a good job of it, too.

Shpongle reeks of DMT.

Any time I hear their music it instantly takes me back to that realm.
