None of you know rock whatsoever.

What I am trying to say is that Are You Experienced or Bold as Love are the influential albums. A fucking greatest hits album is not the influential thing. When a guitarist like Kravitz, Satriani, Van Halen, Vai, SRV, ANYONE, says "I was influenced by Hendrix" they don't fucking mean a compilation album that came out after they already had careers.

to be fair, suggs said whatever made you become a fan of whatever genre you listen to the most
Thus, influential to you, not to the actual genre.

appetite for destruction influential for me

otherwise you gotta look at a lot of bands that first started back in the 50s, 60s, 70s that put the foundation for a lot of later rock n roll bands(buddy holly, the beatles, rolling stones, aerosmith (for hard rock genre kinda, influenced a lot of musicians aka james hetfield, nikki sixx and more) Queen, the who, led zep, the yardbirds, neil young, bob dylan...black sabbath, list goes on and on)

Satriani has 15 grammy nominations.
Vai has plenty.

Saying Van Halen isn't relevant in a "influential albums" thread is fucking stupid because plenty of people basically started doing what he was doing.

Vai and Satriani are nearly the be-all-end-all of instrumental rock these days.

vai is an excellent guitarist, i believe joe satriani ? taught him how to play the guitar(had lessons or some sort)(or some other dude lol can't remember)played with zappa, (rip), whitesnake(didn't like their all ''glam'' style, prefered their ancient style more blues rock)
