Yeah. As youve said us dubsteb is apparently different from UK. Im pretty sure ive prolly only heard US based dubstep lol. To better anser your question, i just think it destroys the music. around here its just kids taking somones songs and mix'in em on there laptops. Not only that but Alot of the dubstep kids round here just haven no respect. Maybe you dont see it, but trust in me i have been around the dubstep scene in st louis and WA. It just doesnt FEEL like music to me. But thats my opinion. And as you have previously said, You cant stand US dubstep. So you have to see where im comin from, atleast just a bit ;) I understand that someone as passionate as yu about dubstep still wont think those are good enough reasons to call the genre a "disgrace" But thas jus how i feel. :P And I agree. The dead isnt for everyone. Ive seen further over 15 times in 10 diff states. And i love it. I understand alot of people wont.

Hell....Even I will agree that further is on its last leg. I will be totally honest when i say i have seen dead tributes that ig et down to more then further. but further is old man lol. phil and bob are old. The dead will never be the same as the Grateful dead Without jerry

i see exactly where you're coming from lol we're pretty much on the same page . i know even the roots influenced dubstep isnt for every one , how could it be ? it's half time beat so its slow, generally minimal , and you need to have a real system to get the full sound. so im not trying to push it on everybody who dislikes it, it deff has a particular crowd. i just want people who hate it to realize they dont need to hate the entire genre , but just hate explotation of music. honestly that's what it comes down to imo. it happened to every genre that ever hit some form of the mainstream, but the thing with dubstep is dubstep was something that it happened extremely fast for how initially underground the original sound was. it blew up and became arguably mainstream in US in a few years and its from the underground of the UK garage/grime scene. thats pretty nuts id say .

lol yes thats what ive been saying.. but let me clear a little up . its not 100% fucked

there still is small scale things going on here and there, and there still are legit partys / raves / shows but they are far and few in between and usually only have 1-2 headlining DJ/producer , my guess is because the majority of ppl pushing that sound are from the UK and promotors in the US want the DJs who are going to bring the money .. which is the more popular electroish dubstep stuff ofc. a lot of shows ive been to in the US dont have proper bass setups either , kinda weird. but the events i see going on in the UK are like every week with 3+ legit dj/producers lol.

east coast has a decent show like every month areas like NYC/ bmore / massachusetts / DC / philly but id say nyc usually has most frequently . they got monthly events like deep space , and now reconstrvct.
this saturday joe nice & seven are playing in bmore, and the 28th joe nice, jack sparrow, and lurka are playing in nYc. great great djs goin on there .

but yes overall , the scene and sound in america is misrepresented , imma steal this quote from andross who qouted killawatt on the state of dubstep right now "I cant really say, everybody is being so negative about it at the moment, its so frustrating. There’s so much good music out there but people are too lazy to go find it or they just wana follow what other people are saying. " id guess most americans find their music off youtube lol
