I've heard good things about the ATH-M50's as a intro headset for bass lovers :)

I think my HD598's are delightful... they require no amplification so they work with my laptop / iPod / Droid very well :)

I probably end up getting a Fiio E7 or maybe a E11 just for kicks... if it doesn't make difference I can return :o

Edit: Beats are terrible headphones... so are Bose... anything you can buy at Walmart / Target is more then likely trash lol... not to mention way overpriced...

Ahh true... but they are like what $1500? At this price I'd expect them to make Fran Drescher sound like a thousand Angels.

I was referring to a vanilla set of cans (non amped)

Thanks for the help, all, but I'll be sticking with my Koss set for now since I don't feel like dropping such a large amount for something that only excels at a specific type of music (being my taste is pretty eclectic).

I still say you got for a pair of AKG's or Sennheisers. I mean, it's not like AKG's are terrible at anything with bass, they're just less bassy than others being open and all. You still feel the bass, and that's enough for me. Like I said, unless you're listening to retarded amounts of bass like dubstep, you'll be good.

only severe audiophiles who have been exposed to several different sound signatures can be that biased

trust me a lot of headphones will cover your ground.

my AKGs cover everything from classical to electronic to classic rock to whatever just fine. Haven't found a song I don't like through em. Jazz, hip hop, you name it.
