To be honest, I can't see any reasons for any AiC fan not to rate the new album highly.

And anyone who doesn't like the new singer, give me a good reason. "he's not Layne" is not a good reason, because live, he has the passion energy of Layne, and the sound is superb - revamped Alice In Chains. nothing has sold out, nothing has been changed really, it's just a solid AiC album which doesn't deserve a bashing. It's no Dirt, but it's not far off...


I like Your Decision, Check My Brain, A Lesson Learned, and Black Gives Way To Blue.
Those songs are incredible, but they are no where near the old Alice In Chains.
Layne didn't need to jump around the stage like Duvall did, he stood there perfectly still most of the time. (sometimes he would shake his head, or put his foot in front of the microphone, but other than that he just stood there towards the mid90's, in the early 90's he would head bang occasionally) and still received more praise than Duvall will ever receive.

I agree - but i'll never hate on Duvall because I wasn't lucky enough to see the original AiC lineup, but seeing Duvall doing the classics live is an awesome site and sound to see/hear.

I don't get why people keep comparing them - Layne is dead, get over it, there's a new singer and he's actually pretty damn good! Fucking elitists <_< (no, not flaming @ you, but alotta people in here are just gay)

Yeah man, I understand. I was in class one day in school, and I remember we had a sub come in, and we talked about the music in the 70-90's, because he saw alot of the bands back then.
One of the bands was Alice in Chains, in 1991-92. I thought he was the luckiest man alive.

I've met 2 people I really envy.

1. My sisters boyfriends dad - In the 60s, he was all about free love and weed and was at a Hendrix gig speaking to a bouncer, when Hendrix himself walked over, said thanks for coming to the show then invited him to the afterparty! They then spent about 5 hours just jamming, smoking, relaxing. Thats serious envy.

2. My gfs ex boss is from Brazil, and was actually at the Rock In Rio Gig that Iron Maiden did. He said it was the best gig of his life, and i hate him for being there instead of me xD

That's whats up man, I love me some Maiden and Hendrix. I wish I could of been to the Rio De Janeiro concert that Alice and Nirvana played at, was beautiful.

My cousin went to private school with Bruce's son, who then got kicked out for smoking weed and Steve Harris and Brucee both came upto the school to give him a beasting :rofl:
