I did give your list a listen and found a few things I liked

Have Heart is fucking terrible though bro it's about as complicated and meaningful as the Jonas Brothers :(

most of hardcore is very repetitive which is a major factor in me not liking it there are a few unique bands out there but it takes about a year before everyone just rips them off and I'm sick of it

and I prefer a metal show to a hardcore show the crowd is generally much better from my experience

i'm not really arguing that hardcore isnt repetitive. a lot is, it just doesnt bother me a shit load. it does after a while a little.

heres an example of a darker kind of hardcore band from the 90s in my area. i have yet to hear anything like his voice in hardcore which is why i like it so much. they were only 17ish when they recorded it.

how many songs have you looked at?

"About Face"
Fucked it up again. but i'm not looking the other way.
i see my errors and i know i'm wrong, but it's gonna
take way more than that
to change my ways and start thinking straight,
be the person i aspire to be.
own up to myself. turn my life around.
make amends to my friends, i owe to myself and them.
pledge of allegiance to myself. so i must fucking say: i will change
no more selfish ways, no more for # 1; its done.
arrogance is of the past: so i must fucking say: i will change
so you gonna try, or is it gonna be the same fucking song?
i must find, i'll strive for
i must find, i'll strive for

HUMILITY.

so don't lose, don't lose...your way.
don't lose your way.
i said its time we really take a look at ourselves
and start caring about someone else.

it just all reads like a useless self help book man nothing meaningful besides I fucked up and now want to cry about it

idk just my impression

a little slow for my taste

it sounds like a lot of early industrial

theres a lot of faster songs they have, but again they are an underground band from the 90s. Not gonna be able to get much youtube videos of them

if you're looking for faster old hardcore that sounds different, got this too.. they too were young when they recorded this.

my point was simply to say that you have to look around... and you will definitely find some unique hardcore bands with a distinct sound.

ya that's more the style I prefer and am looking for

I am prone to go through phases with music I just went through a pretty large underground hip hop phase and am becoming bored with it but I've exhausted most of my metal knowledge and the lack of good new metal makes me bored with the genre so I'm looking for things I don't generally listen to to keep me occupied for the time being

there are plenty of bands out there like that, just gotta look. One King Down - Bloodlust Revenge. I would recommend downloading it. The singer moved down to NYC and has a band now called Most Precious Blood, which is really good as well.

How are these lyrics now powerful?

Caked up and faked up,
she's obsessed with the outside.
nothing earned, too afraid to fail.
so she leads a hollow life void of insight
loving what you see, but you fear what you think
because of your mind and your body
there's a missing fucking link
that leaves you vulnerable, susceptible to pain
you're a garden of potential submerged in the rain

spineless and mindless. you flex your muscles and not your fucking head
a deep man with a strong point made without one thoughtful word said?
"huff and puff", the fierce fists will do the talking
cant speak for yourself so your "crew"'s with you walking
tell me whats worth fighting for...
and it better be something greater than an evening of the score

boy, your true strength sleeps behind your eyes!

its the absent minded fool who's afraid to think,
to extend an open hand,
to dare to earn a thing.
its the gift inside our heads not to take for granted..
because an unexamined life is a seed unplanted.
as the animals, they cant reason
but as humans we can.
so are you just a wild animal or a rational man?
our bodies bring us nowhere, might does NOT make right.
theres a gift inside your head *called your mind!*

I think most of their lyrics are kinda cringeworthy

you listen to shitty music regardless, so your opinion is nullified.
quit being a snobby geeky elitist and enjoy it/super the core.
