im not sure how east/west/ohio/whatever scene kid.

Texas has no crews. no one is scene. no one does windmills and super man kick bullshit.

see I think that is another factor as well

most places do have "crews" but they are 99% pussies (IE: the SLC "hateedge" pussies that are the biggest jokes in the world)

the difference is in LA if you are going to rep a "krew" and wear bandanas you are going to get hit up quick by gang members and so a lot of the crews here actually pack knives and start shit a lot which makes it a hostile environment at all of our shows

think suicidal tendencies and that's pretty much how the krews still are here

listen to winds of plague

they do WANT to be metal

they lack the skill to be metal

so therefore they cannot be metal

This is propably one of the most retarded things I have ever heard.

Seriously, get a clue.

well Houston still has deep roots of Pantera shows so I can see that

idk its probably just my mentality out here in Cali metalheads and hardcore kids don't get along at all where I know in other places many people listen to both and don't really distinguish between the two

I got dragged to sounds of the underground last year and idk who was playing but it was some shitty hardcore band and a huge fight broke out 7 people got taken out on stretchers and shit and the whole fight was just because the hardcore kids hate the metal kids

kinda dumb I admit but its what we do : /

im not sure if you're relating to a kid as "hardcore" because sadly the term for their lame karate is "hardcore dancing". now im only speaking for Houston, but no one does the fake fighting, swinging in the air at no one (unless they are part of that edge crew), flips, windmill, and all the other things hardcore gets stereotyped for. i went to sounds of the underground like 3-4 years ago when they one hardcore band.... This Is Hell. i havnt seen a real hardcore band on those line ups since. now if you're talking about metalcore/deathcore/whatever else gets polluted with scene kids wearing tight pants and an underoath shirt i can see your point of view exactly.

and winds of plague is not hardcore music. i agree they are trying to be a metal band judging by who they tour with.

HTB changed lead singers, I like both old and some new. AGATG. meh, I got into them after seeing that tour, and they were really good, every set on that tour was amazing, I agree.

so none of that tour had even half an original band left. does that tell you anything?

Tbh, crews kinda ruin it for me. I got buddies in crews, and even a few in fsu. Some want to prospect me, but i dont really wanna hang around people who go into PMS mode when u say one little thing wrong, kidding or not.

thats one of the biggest problem i have with people. in my eyes no one goes to a concert just to pick a fight. if they do, they're pussies and shouldnt even be involved with hardcore music at all.

I don't understand this

E: @ the bottom statements - I wish we had no crews here

i didnt mean to type kid.

we have one crew, but they are all douche bags so no one pays attention to them. sadly they try and represent "straight edge" for Houston, and its pathetic. but they wont show up to concerts alone because they think everyone is out to get them. to me, going alone to a show is the most fun.

i have two friends that go to shows. we all drive up there alone, and honestly only talk while the bands are setting up.

i know kids at shows, we shake hands and say hello but that is about it. i dont bring my girl friend because i dont want to stand next to her either watching the show or telling other dudes to stop trying to holler. basically i dont like to baby sit haha.

If Winds of Plague wanted to be just metal, they would.

honestly, before decimate the weak came out WOP shows had their fun. only about 15-20 kids would show up and no one would get pissed at each other.

i cant say nowadays. but they are not hardcore, they attempted to write that one song (track 7?) on DTW. no thanks.

Yeah I know what song you mean. It's called Reloaded or something. I really like it to be honest. It has a generic sound, but it was real entertaining to see live.
