hardcore came from punk music, not metal. so i dont understand what you're trying to say about being heavy. a lot of the messages (at least in the bands i listen to) are about staying true, be yourself, violence, or anti war/goverment. none of them being about no one accepting them.

second, i love chants and pile ups. and i dont have a comb over, there isnt any scene kids here that go to hardcore shows because people beat their ass for it.

I know where real hardcore came from but you have to admit this new wave shit (especially the deathcore) tries really fucking hard to tap into the metal fans by tuning down and trying to be "heavy"

new wave deathcore has 100% do to with hardcore music though, so why even worry about those genres of music?
if anything from metal influenced bands i listen to would be thrash.

a lot of bands i listen to really dont tune down and break into a 3 minute breakdown like you're thinking.

mabye cali just has a bad scene im not sure. but Houston has no scene kids are hardcore shows and no one does windmills and fight invisible people by kicking and swinging randomly. a lot of people here just "slam dance" which would be common to see at thrash shows.

I live in Northeast Ohio. My buddy lives here, but also has family in the Bay Area of California. He spent last summer there, and when he got back he told me that they are wayyy behind the East Coast as far as style, show popularity, etc. goes. He said the kids he met at all of the shows he attended were lame as fuck and general ran around wind milling or just two stepped a lot. If I experienced that every time I went to a show I'd hate hardcore as well.

Tbh, crews kinda ruin it for me. I got buddies in crews, and even a few in fsu. Some want to prospect me, but i dont really wanna hang around people who go into PMS mode when u say one little thing wrong, kidding or not.

And I'm not a fan of lil john, or much rap in general. Mostly the more oldschool shit like public enemy and wu tang.. but i found this video and its pretty sick.

because Norma Jeans bless the martyr album changed metalcore all together... i have a lot of respect for Norma Jean, not so much the chariot because the only original member is Scogan (vocalist). i recently just went to that tour a couple months back and they played the whole bless the martyr album, which was sick as fuck. took me back to being in 9th grade.

horse the band fucking blows dick. im not even sure why you even brought them into this thread, and same with arsonist. they have lost almost their whole original line up and now sound like piss.

HTB changed lead singers, I like both old and some new. AGATG. meh, I got into them after seeing that tour, and they were really good, every set on that tour was amazing, I agree.

well Houston still has deep roots of Pantera shows so I can see that

idk its probably just my mentality out here in Cali metalheads and hardcore kids don't get along at all where I know in other places many people listen to both and don't really distinguish between the two

I got dragged to sounds of the underground last year and idk who was playing but it was some shitty hardcore band and a huge fight broke out 7 people got taken out on stretchers and shit and the whole fight was just because the hardcore kids hate the metal kids

kinda dumb I admit but its what we do : /

listen to winds of plague

they do WANT to be metal

they lack the skill to be metal

so therefore they cannot be metal
