hardcore is just too generic for me to get into

to me they try way too hard to be "heavy" but when you listen to black/death metal it sounds about as heavy as Disturbed or Slipknot (not heavy at all) and all the "messages" in hardcore sound like 13 year old girls bitching about not being accepted for who they are

idk its just not something I can get into

crowd chants, breakdowns, and comb overs are my least favorite things in the world

if they wanted to be black/death metal, then they could be black/death metal... that's where your logic is flawed. they're not trying to be everything, the only thing they're trying to do is spread a message and play good tunage for those that enjoy that type of material, ya dig? it's music, nevertheless. sure, it might not be that technical, but that's something i can accept. it's good music to me. music is music, and you should respect it for that and all of it's listeners. there is simply no such thing as a bad taste in music, whether you like gavin degraw, lady gaga, limp bizkit, disturbed, trapped under ice, children of bodom, burzum, new found glory, blink-182, or set your goals. its music, each individual has their own taste, it cant be BAD, (maybe if you listen to brokencyde). in my opinion you should just accept it for what it is, even if it's shitty in your opinion. leave it be . :) nothing against you i think youre a cool guy

i think we should leave it alone now

hardcore came from punk music, not metal. so i dont understand what you're trying to say about being heavy. a lot of the messages (at least in the bands i listen to) are about staying true, be yourself, violence, or anti war/goverment. none of them being about no one accepting them.

second, i love chants and pile ups. and i dont have a comb over, there isnt any scene kids here that go to hardcore shows because people beat their ass for it.

I just recently got back from Florida and I got to see a lot of shows down there.

The best one that I had the pleasure of attending was Arsonists Get All The Girls, The Chariot, Horse The Band and Norma Jean. I also got to see Saosin who weren't bad either.

But that one show, uh-fucking-mazing is the only way to describe it.

I really like the nintendocore style of HTB. Norma Jean is more metal but they happened to be on tour with them so I just stuck around and they were actually really good. AGATG and The Chariot were exceptional, but I don't see how people can like The Chariot and not Norma Jean, I mean they're slightly different styles, but the old NJ singer = The Chariot lead singer. I got to meet him too as well as the rest of the band, and they were just kickass and funny, lol.

because Norma Jeans bless the martyr album changed metalcore all together... i have a lot of respect for Norma Jean, not so much the chariot because the only original member is Scogan (vocalist). i recently just went to that tour a couple months back and they played the whole bless the martyr album, which was sick as fuck. took me back to being in 9th grade.

horse the band fucking blows dick. im not even sure why you even brought them into this thread, and same with arsonist. they have lost almost their whole original line up and now sound like piss.

most of the bands try VERY hard to be death metal (deathcore) they lack the musical ability to play death metal my logic isn't flawed at all

some of the bands stay true to the hardcore punk movement where hardcore is supposed to have come from and that I can respect except for that none of the bands that have come out in the last 10 years have had lyrics worth listening to <_<

and there is absolutely such thing as bad taste in music, we invented country as a mobile IQ test, if you listen to country then you are an idiot and I don't want to talk to you

I don't dislike hardcore necessarily, I dislike hardcore kids because they always talk about how they are the real hardcore guys and everyone else is just scene posers but I have yet to see one "hardcore" kid ever do anything different than those same scene kids that they revoke
