Greetings gentlemen.

Ludwig! Are you well, old friend? Your week-long absence had me most worried!

Ah, why hello! I was glad to see you accepted into the Hall of Fame recently, I trust you find such ranks fitting?

Indeed, it is an honor, ney, a privilege to be placed alongside gentlemen of high prominence (such as yourself).

I've recently taken to delinquent behavior to curb my lust for a select assortment of beverages and fine cigars, forgive me for mentioning such a thing, sirs. I hope that my absence hasn't caused too much grievance.

You needn't apologize, my friend, as you are a part of our esteemed order. Might one inquire as to which beverages and fine cigars you have selected?

For the fine cigars - Ashton, Joya de Nicaragua, La Gloria, Cubana, Stradivarius and finally Padron. The beverages on the other hand, were primarily Glenkinchie and Lagavulin single malt whiskey - served in a crystal tumbler, with one cube of ice to ensure maximum flavor and sensuality in every sip.

You, sir, need to hop the pond and visit the grand land of the U.S.A.
There is much to experience from every corner of the world, right here on our shores.

Sir, I have to inquire to what the expression "hop the pond" means. Indeed, however, I was in fact planning the perilous journey by way of aeroplane to the United States of America. When I stumbled upon a particular variant of an American citizen who were particularly vulgar and frightful (monsters if you will) - wearing some sort of white tribal face paint. They also vociferated "WHOOP WHOOP". Monsters indeed! Proud in their ugliness and vulgarity; wholly decadent, epitomising the kind of twisted, inverse postmodern youth culture where 'wicked' and 'bad' mean the opposite of what they're meant to. Sadly to say, this incident has put me off visiting America.

That is but one small sampling of a vast compilation of cultures represented by, for the most part, idiots. Thus we have, in essence, Rap culture.
I agree with your view of them.
"Hop the pond" is a phrase that was coined after your time, but a bit before mine, so it is common place now. It refers to the Atlantic Ocean as a rather large pond. I realise it is a convoluted notion, but to plauge ourselves with trivialities diminishes our ability to enjoy simple things for what they are... Simple.
I would still look forward to your arrival if you were to change your outlook.
All societies have there pitfalls, odd-balls, and indecent folk. Ours is no different.
