no its, just people grow out of the stages, once they are introduced to different genres.

me for example. i still listen alot of hardcore, just not as much as i use too.

you think despised icon is deathcore? for me/us (socal) to count as deathcore it has to at least have SOME sort of wanna be death metal involved in it

despised icon has no hardcore influences at all. its just blast beats, chug breakdown and more blast beats.

genres = categories which is something that may be offensive/repressive but at the end of the day helps you organize your thoughts

whether you like it or not your brain will always categorize things for the simple convenience of it

I specify what counts as deathcore to me so that every time we talk about music we don't have to explain it we can just go off of the category and continue

I've never heard any of their songs that has a blast beat in it, granted I've never made it through an entire one of their songs either without turning it off due to sucking

i actually think their drummer is very good but thats as far as that goes.

true but ur just making it harder for your self. by organizing each band to what kinda core they are by sub catagorizing them within the main genre.

I listened to 3 full songs (painfully) and didn't find any blast beats : /
