yo hooked, in your opinion why do you claim most deathcore/grindcore bands "generic"? not starting an argument. im just curious.

because they are generic

listen to whitechapel/carnifex/winds of plague whoever you wanna fill in there

if they all tuned the same and you took out the vocals there would be no way to tell them apart


edit: grindcore is different but I doubt any of you listen to grindcore anyways so nn to comment about it

no no, i never really had an exact definition on why bands are generic. oh fuck yeah most of them are all the same.(sound wise) but for some reason i think veil of maya, despised icon, chelsea grin, etc(ones i listen to) all stand out to me imo. thats why i asked about neing "generic" never really understood why. just went with it.

because everyone is going for the same sound it seems like.

high pitch scream bree grunt breakdown for 3 minutes go back to singing about raping a girl and cutting their organs out.
i will admit to enjoying a bit of deathcore live about 3 years ago, but i grew up since then. plus i cant stand scene kids.


i was never big into grindcore. i like pig destroyer but that is about it

Veil of Maya just try way too hard to be meta but can't play at all imo

Despised Icon isn't deathcore at all I would say they are just hardcore with the worlds worst pig squeals

but yes I suppose those 2 do have a semi distinct sound to them (never listened to Chelsea Grin for more than 5 minutes so no opinion there) but the style of their music is still very generic

their lyrical content, tuning, and breakdowns are pretty much the same across the board which makes listening to the music get really old really fast which is my main problem with hardcore/deathcore

I could listen to Despised Icon for about a song then the next song comes on and sounds exactly the same so it just gets old fast, plus breakdowns kill music for me nothing screams I have no idea how to play the guitar quite like a breakdown does

good band

real grindcore is like real black metal, its cool for about 5 minutes then you realize they take it seriously and just laugh at them

veil of maya is probably the best "deathcore" band though.

despised icon is deathcore as can get. chelsea grin is fucking lame scene kids.

i have no speakers so im not sure if this is good quality or not.
