Yep, Filteria's studio is NUTS.
http://www.filteria.com/ Click the studio tab and behold his collection. Over 20 grand in synths easy. Wish I could afford a godly collection like that. Analog synths do not run on software though, only digital hardware synths do that. And then there's hybrids, like mine, which is a digital synth engine with analog filters. I wanna get one more hardware synth, some monitor speakers, and a good sound card. A mixing desk would be really nice too. I have a bunch of soft synths, but none that I like really. Abysnth 5 is kinda cool. I find Alchemy and Omnisphere very, very interesting though. They have a unique sound quality to them among softies. Alchemy is probably the most complex synthesizer on the market at the moment. Omnisphere is probably the best sounding in terms of being rich, fat, and full. I also need to get Cubase @_@ Kind of sucks that electronic music is by far the most expensive to make. Hell, you can buy a decent guitar for 700 and an amp for the same and be done with your investments, where as all the equipment needed for electronic music usually runs you 3-5k in hardware in the end.
Yeah, same here in regards to mentioning trance. Even if someone here did want to collaborate, I probably wouldn't unless I knew them very well, simply because I want to do something musically that is different from everything else. What's the point of even making music if there's already something out there that sounds like it, ya know? If I found someone who shared my idea of unique music, I totally would though. Be nice to have the added creativity of another mind. As much as I see music as something personal, I can't help but think with how many insane 1-man artists there are, duo's and trio's would be even better. The few that I know of are really great. Infected Mushroom, Vibrasphere, Astral Projection, GMS, Vibetribe, etc etc. I think more collaborations need to be done. With people that actually love music, and want to create something new, I think the best psy is yet ahead of us. Especially with how advanced synthesis has gotten, the future looks very, very trippy for music.
Haha wow that is a sweet studio. Makes me

And yes, you're right, I completely disregarded analog synths in my last post. I've been reading a book about synthesis and they've been focusing on the differences between software and hardware, at least digital hardware, and it's pretty interesting how similar they are but how different people perceive the end sound. I don't know much about analog synths but I must agree that the sound does have a much richer, fuller quality to it. I've been looking at Omnisphere for a while but I don't have the cash to put on it at the moment and my resources for finding soft synths are pretty disappointing usually but if I'm gonna be on the look out for it based on your recommendation. Electronic music is definitely expensive but I think it's so worth it because you make ANY sound. With a guitar, or really most any instrument, you're very limited to the types of sounds you can make.
Anyway, tonight there's a Younger Brother show here which I think I'm going to go to. My friend's coworker's band is opening for them so that should be cool. I imagine it will be a bunch of new material seeing as they're releasing their new album soon. (if they haven't already) I've been a little disappointed in the direction because I'm not a huge fan of lyrics and singing in psy music but the direction is certainly interesting and I'm sure Benji and Simon won't let it go somewhere it shouldn't. Anyway, I'm excited to hear some new stuff.
