Im not great with music terminology but ill demonstrate what i mean by using a sentence.

First off music is a form of communication. So just like a sentence , it probably best to start off with a complete idea first before you move on to style.

Consider this sentence

I was riding the bus and this girl.

Not complete right , doesn't that bug you?

What about the girl - did she do something or say something?

Same thing with music. Complete the beat. There are places to make change, you just gotta find the right place.

ok so you are saying that i should add more songs inbetween both ones in the 1:02 change so the effect will be more smooth and progressive?

no , I think that sound effect you added between those two song was like a band aid to cover up a boo boo, except it was like a big green band aid - at least for me. I would redit those songs and find the right place to switch - that just wasn't the right place.
Maybe the sounds are too different to mix and a third song in between would be better.

Also another technique you could use would be to combine two songs to make a transitional beat and mix that in between the original two.

Do you know what a Hook is - if so you could use a hook from a really classic song and mix it with a really cool jam beat and use that to not only make the mix/transition better. Dont be afraid of trying things and see what happens. Sometimes the biggest mistakes turn out to be the best discoveries.
