actually... listen to the lorde album. she has better beats than most radio rappers. has as much hip hop influence as a kanye kardashian album. (you might also be hearing the version with that fake ass cop ass rick ross on it)
don't listen to a station for "today's hip hop" and expect anything other than radio garbage.
type in an artist IE: chance the rapper, earl sweatshirt, mac miller, pusha T...? there is still good hip hop but pandora is gonna play you some rap ymcmb bullshit.

That album was released in 2005 and it has uses some of the best instrumentals I have ever heard. Although you do make a point about how that really isn't "Today's Hip-Hop".
