Yeah in terms of atmospherical sound, ambiance and brutality I think that The Harvest Wombs distinguishes itself very well apart from other progressive metal. I also love the black metal styled vocals Matt can do. Rob's Incredible guitar work. Have you checked out Nomadic EP? It's an absolute also a gem in my eyes, although it took a little time for it to fully grow on me : ). Yeah BoO doesn't do it for me lol. Prefer bands like Gorod, Rings of Saturn, Horrified. All are very different but may be worth your time looking into.
